FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
On Wednesday, April 16, 2014, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm a march will begin from St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 720 North King Street, Honolulu to the Federal Building for the purpose of asking Hawaii’s Congressional delegation to please redouble their efforts to obtain federal funding to meet the medical needs of Micronesian residents of our State. Recently, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled that Hawaii need not pay the medical expenses for Micronesian residents of the State, potentially leaving thousands of people with little or no medical care. A coalition of various Christian churches and other community organizations is facilitating this rally to demonstrate broad community support for this dire need. For more information please contact Rev. David Gierlach, Rector, St. Elizabeth’s Episcopal Church, 720 North King Street, Honolulu, 673-8930.
